Direct steam generation for CSP with linear concentrators


The project's primary goal is to construct a comprehensive thermal-hydraulic model applicable to linear solar concentrators like PTC and LFR, utilizing water (direct steam generation, DSG) or thermal oil as heat transfer fluids. This model facilitates solar field area determination, fluid temperature prediction at the receiver, and two-phase flow pattern analysis in DSG, alongside evaluating solar field energy and efficiency. Initially, solar-only plants were the focus, but current efforts include exploring hybridization with geothermal to enhance steam quality and facility efficiency.
